Blanket box

This is one of my first real woodwork projects. I was a student and could barely afford any tools - it is built using a swiss army knife, hand plane and saw (I borrowed a router and a sander from my Uncle at the very end of the project). It was no mean feat to produce finger joints!  The wood is rimu and from an old wall in Picton. The box is 20 years old - it now lives at the end of our bed and serves as a launch pad for the  kids and dog.
